When dating someone in the digital age, it’s only human to do your research, and it looks like Sabrina Carpenter may have found a wealth of creative inspiration when doing hers on new flame Barry Keoghan.

When fan account @emailsavenue unearthed some old tweets by Keoghan, the post quickly went viral. Why? They may have just revealed the source material for Carpenter’s hits, ‘Espresso’ and ‘Please, Please, Please.’

“This time last year I told you I would that I would be an Espresso Addict,” rad Keoghan’s first tweet, from November 2014.

While it could be a stretch of the imagination to connect the songs to these musings, the specificity of the mentions feels a little too uncanny to be mere coincidence.

Naturally, fans have been divided, wondering if the Irish actor manifested his pop star girlfriend or if Carpenterdeliberately made these tongue-in-cheek references after engaging in some light social media stalking. The romantics are swooning over the ‘invisible strings’ while others are praising the singer for her creative liberty.

Wherever the inspiration comes from, it seems to have worked out, with both ‘Espresso’ and ‘Please please please’ smashing charts and dominating the season. And luckily for us, Keoghan has a long tweet history to inspire another banger.

Supposedly meeting at Givenchy’s Spring/Summer 2024 show during Paris Fashion Week at the end of September 2023, the duo were first photographed getting cosy in December of that year, following the Saltburn star’s divorce from Alyson Kierans.

By February, Carpenter and Keoghan had made their first public appearance together at W magazine‘s Grammys after-party and even walked the 2024 Met Gala red carpet together.
